Correction of character name – Ms. On - Photographer Danny Bach from Vietnam

In 2025, I traveled to Sa Pa to track down a specific subject—the very first person featured in my portrait collection (Shown in this post’s cover photo, taken in 2017 during the project’s initial phase). I was fortunate enough to meet her daughter that day and learned her correct name: Ms. On—not “Ms. O,” as I had recorded in the book.

I returned to Sa Pa briefly in 2026 to wrap up some work. With some spare time, I visited the local market and was lucky to find Ms. On selling her goods. We chatted, connected on Facebook, and took a commemorative photo; she told me that next time I visited, I should give her a call so she could prepare a chicken for me—she had plenty at home but couldn’t eat them all.

I dedicate this post to restoring her true name: Ms. On.
